I. Các động từ thường dùng chỉ ăn mặc trong Tiếng Anh
1. To attire /əˈtaɪər/ : quần áo trang phục dùng với nghĩa động từ là To dress (đặc biệt đối với những trang phục lịch sự như vest). Thường không hay gặp trong giao tiếp
Eg: She buckled up her daughters shoes.
Eg: She buttoned up her cardigan before she went outside.
Eg: She dressed before she went to work.
5. To fasten: To secure an item of clothing, using zips, buttons or buckles.
Eg: She fastened his jacket to make sure he didn't get cold.
Eg: He unfastened his tie before he took it off.
Eg: She unzipped her jacket when she got too warm.
9. To zip: To fasten an item of clothing using a zip.
Eg: She zipped up her jacket before she went outside.
II. Các cụm động từ thường dùng chỉ ăn mặc trong Tiếng Anh
1.Dress up: thường dùng chỉ mặc những trang phục đẹp, lộng lẫy (To dress in your best clothes).
Eg: I have a date. I should dress up
2. Zip up: To fasten an item of clothing using a zip (kéo khóa áo)- It was cold outside, so he zipped his jacket up.
3. Bottom up: cài cúc
Eg: I should bottom up my Jacket
Eg: She did his jacket up for him before he left the house.
5.hang out: phơi quần áo (To dry clothes outside after washing).
Eg: The weather was fine, so she hung out the washing.
6. Hang up: To put something on a hook or a hanger.
Eg: -Don't leave your clothes on the floor. Hang them up
- She was a very neat child. She hung her clothes up every night.
7. Have on:To wear an item of clothing on one's person.
Eg: - What do you have on right now?
- She had a red t-shirt on when he saw her.
Eg: - I put on my hat
- He put his shoes on before he went out.
Eg: He kicked his shoes off as soon as he got home.
Eg: - He took his shoes off before he went to bed.
- I took off my jacket
Eg: My feet hurt. I need to wear my shoes.
12. Slip on: To put on an item of clothing easily.
Eg: She slipped her sandals on before she went into the sea.Eg: She always tried shoes on before she bought them.
Eg: She was in such a hurry she just threw on a few clothes before she left the house.
Eg: Her jeans were too long, so she turned them up.
Eg: His mother told him to wrap himself up warm because it was so cold outside.
